Role Overview

Responsibility 1) Working experience of managing finance department of large sized listed utility . 2) Directing, supporting, and demonstrating leadership to achieve intended outcome/ results of established management systems 3) Establish departmental objectives and periodically review the performance status and continual improvement 4) Define roles, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities of team 5) Review compliance status for all applicable legal and other requirements 6) Evaluate competency/skill requirements of employees. 7) Review and approve training needs and departmental training plan 8) Review of non-conformance and approve corrective/preventive action 9) To oversee the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Accounting in terms of related accounting policies, Accounting Standards and variance analysis. 10) To analyze the CAPEX & OPEX in terms of Budgetary control 11) To oversee the Collection and Treasury functions to establish, implement, maintain and improve the processes appropriately to achieve the desired outputs. 12) To respond Indirect tax and Direct tax matters to Corporate 13) To oversee the Pay roll and Statutory payments from a compliance perspective. 14) Commanding knowledge of electricity laws and MoP notifications, Regulations of various State commissions etc. 15) To have an expert knowledge of electricity regulations, experience of analysing the regulations while ensuring Regulatory Filings in time i.e. Tariff petitions, Projections for MYT, APR/ARR, Quarterly FPPPA calculations, Regulatory Compliance Reports for GERC & CEA. 16) Understanding of commercial and regulatory aspects of power purchase agreements. 17) Experience of dealing with commercial matters, agreements etc. 18) To co-ordinate with Statutory, Internal, Tax and other auditors and to ensure that the same could be conducted effectively and in appropriate manner to get the desired level of internal control. 19) To identify the KPI’s for each department and monitor the same periodically to improve their performance and productivity. 20) Supporting other relevant roles to demonstrate leadership that applies to areas of responsibilities. 21) Practical experience of dealing in direct tax and indirect tax matters including return filing with Income tax department, GST department etc., handling departmental audit etc. 22) GST implementation Authority 1) To establish, maintain, and review the business processes for better performance. 2) To sanction the allocated CAPEX in accordance with the approved budget. 3) To Approve the writing -off the asset proposed by user departments Accountability 1) Accountable to the management for the performance of the department. 2) Accountable for statutory and legal compliances. 3) Accountable for the implementation of IMS under various standards and monitor the continual improvement of the system.
