Role Overview
Designation / RoleSnowflake DBT Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy dbt models, macros, and packages targeting Snowflake.
- Design and implement modular, documented data models and ELT pipelines that support analytics use cases.
- Optimize SQL and Snowflake configurations for performance and cost efficiency.
- Implement automated testing, documentation, and data quality checks using dbt tests and hooks.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD workflows, branching strategies, and code review processes for dbt projects.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data artifacts.
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot incidents, and implement observability and alerting for transformation jobs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience building and operating dbt projects in production on Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience optimizing queries and Snowflake performance.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and Git-based development workflows.
- Familiarity with Python and Jinja templating for dbt macros and automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
